ARE YOU A COMPETING CLUB?

Yes we are a competing club. We would like all our athletes to compete in their agreed events at sometime in the race calendar.

HOW MANY COMPETITIONS OR MEETINGS ARE THERE IN A CALENDAR YEAR?

There are approximately 8 meeting a season as we compete in 'The Louise Aurthur League' - There are other open meetings that can be seen on the Welsh Athletics website.

WHAT ARE THE AGE CATEGORIES WILL MY SONS/DAUGHTERS COMPLETE IN?

There are male and female age categories in under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17 age groups.

DO I NEED TO STAY AND WATCH MY CHILDREN TRAIN?

It is entirely up to you, but the majority of parents drop their children off and return towards the end of sessions. We will not let the young athletes leave if parents have not collected them.

AS A PARENT, CAN I HELP OUT AT THE CLUB?

Yes. Were are always looking for family and friends to help out, particulary on competion days. If as a club we want to have longjeverty within the community, we need to get parents involved whether it be on a casual basis or perhaps as an assistant coach. (DRS check will be required) If you feel that you can help the club in any way please speak to one of the coaches on club nights or give us a call.

Can I help out at the club?

If you are a parent or relative or have any aspiration of working with young children that are involve in athletics, we would welcome you to the club in hope that you can help out. We would expect you to have a DBS check which the club would organise for you. As a club that have strong links with the local community we want to involve more people that have a variety of skill sets that we could use. If you are an IT expert, a builder, a doctor or whether you are retired, we are sure that you could help. If so please contact Rowland Williams.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD, HOW WILL I KNOW IF TRAINING IS CANCELLED?

If the weather is too bad to train outdoors we do have the option of holding training sessions indoors within a gymnasium. In the Winter months the majority of sessions are held indoors.
